Environmental, Social and Governance

Society is increasingly looking to organisations to embrace a wider responsibility beyond the limits of their own operations.

As a fully owned subsidiary of the leader in minor metals-based products, we are proactive in developing solutions to social and environmental challenges and help deliver a better future for us all.

Our ESG policies, ethical, conflict-free sourcing and vertical integration allow us to explore new and innovative value creation models. We are a leader in environmental responsibility, enabling us to grow and evolve sustainably as a responsible materials technology organisation.

Our employees and everyone in our supply chain are respected and protected. We follow strict labour and human rights protections and actively participate in socio-economic developments of many of the regional communities where our businesses are involved, including poverty alleviation, creation of meaningful jobs and regional crisis relief.

Adopting the principles of the United Nations (UN) Global Compact , the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are instrumental in defining our strategic priorities.

Responsible Sourcing and Production

VPMS is committed to responsible sourcing and the management of social, environmental, and economic sustainability in our supply chains. We follow the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Due Diligence Guidance for Minerals and adopted the principles of the United Nations (UN) Global Compact.

At our site in Langelsheim, our high technology equipment and controlled processes are optimised to refine and recycle minor metals. Recycling of metals supports circular material flows, reducing the demand for natural resources and aligned with a sustainable economy.

VPMS works under the safety requirements of 12. BImSchV (12. German Federal Immission Control Ordinance).

Our production facilities and associated waste water treatment plants are permitted according to the BImSchG (German Federal Immission Control Act) and the WHG (German Federal Water Act) respectively. These Acts ensure integrated prevention and control of any harmful effects on the environment.
